You are cordially invited to celebrate the end of the year with articule at its annual Cocktail Party! Please join us for cocktail delights and music in a celebratory, pseudo-formal environment. This year, in addition to our special cocktails, we will be offering hors-d’œuvres by Mile End artisans and performances inspired by the neighbourhood. Do not miss it!

The evening features performances and contributions by articule members Jacqueline van de Geer, Julie Laurin and Raphaële Frigon. Recently presented at this year’s VIVA! Art Action, van de Geer uses the absurd to explore universal subjects such as family and politics. Julie Laurin just presented her work during this year’s Visualeyez Festival in Edmonton. Her work is at the threshold between performance and sculpture. Artist Raphaële Frigon recently joined articule’s Board of Directors and her practice is at the juncture of biology and technology.

The evening will continue with witchy beats by DJ GAYANCE, a “vinyl girl in the mp3 world.”

For the occasion, a few neighborhood restaurants will participate in a friendly hors-d’œuvres competition. You will have the chance to sample their best bite-size creations and vote for your favorite hors-d’œuvre!

Also, did you know that articule has a boutique? Just in time for the holidays, you can purchase an issue of the gorgeous journal HB, which features drawings by some of the best emerging and established artists in Canada, as well as limited edition multiples (books, t-shirts, etc.) produced by articule and local artists—and in doing so support both!
