Discussion with Johnny Forever (in English with French translation available as needed) at 7:30 PM.

JJ Levine: Queer Portraits is a large photography monograph depicting one hundred portraits of Levine’s friends and family in Montreal, taken over the past 9 years.

Switch is a 2009 photography series that presents the viewer with what initially appear to be pairs of classic studio portraits of heterosexual couples. Upon closer examination, however, it becomes clear that each pair of couples portrayed is comprised of two models, not four. Both monographs are bilingual (English/French). Photos from the books will be on display for the evening.

For Rousings, dozen artists from the Americas were invited to chose a dead queer artist, invoke that ancestor’s spirit into their bodies through an erotic ritual filmed on webcam or cellphone. The videos were uploaded to the user-generated sex video sharing platform XTube. The 40-page leatherette-bound hardcover edition contains archival imagery, video stills and interviews (in English, French and Spanish) with artists who participated in the project, with an introduction by Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay. There will be a projection with some videos from the project.

Some sexually explicit material.
