Call for Applications: Members’ Show and Fundraiser
Deadline: November 30, 2015
THE 35 CHALLENGE
35 current members
35 former members
35 dollars
Have you ever been a member of articule since its incorporation in 1980? We want to make your portrait! Here is an opportunity to share your experience with the articule community and to continue to support the artist-run centre.
To close off articule’s 35th anniversary and develop intergenerational links at the centre, articule is seeking people who have been a member of the centre in the past 35 years and who are interested in engaging with a current member. This initiative requires a meeting of at least one hour to produce either a portrait or an interview (visual art, mail art, video, audio, performance, etc.) of the former member by the current member. In exchange, the former member donates $35 to the centre to support its long-term initiatives.
Members can form pairs autonomously or sign up to be part of a “speed dating” event taking place on Friday, December 4, 2015.
The 35 resulting pieces will be exhibited as part of the upcoming Members’ Show, March 19-27, 2016, and could also be part of a silent auction and/or catalogue.
To apply, please send a short email to outreach@articule.org with the following information:
If you are a former member:
- 1) year(s) of membership
- 2) first and last name
- 3) contact information: email and phone number
- 4) please describe yourself in 50 words (include website, etc. if applicable)
- 5) indicate if you would like to RSVP for the “speed dating” event

- 1) items 2 to 5 above
- 2) optional: briefly describe your idea of what the work could be and/or any particular interests
