For its upcoming exhibition, articule opens its doors to a space of contemplation and illusion: The Garden of Speculations. This group exhibition brings together four Montreal artists whose work focuses on notions of nature, daydreaming and ambivalence. The Garden of Speculations takes you into a new temporality where dimensions blend in order to open your mind to other perceptions of the world. The constructions and hybrid beings that constitute the Garden not only allow you to cultivate your imagination but also make you fully enjoy the present moment.
Installed in the heart of the Garden, from April 21 to 29, artist Winnie Ho will present Conversations with Another While Being, a durational performance where, with strangers, she explores the notion of intimacy in an immediate temporality.
Kelly Jaclynn Andres is an artist and PhD Candidate in the Interdisciplinary Humanities program at Concordia University in Montreal. Andres' work intermingles ecology and energies: living cellular species such as plants and micro-organisms; electronic mediums such as radio waves, electrons, and photons; and forms of interactive installations and performances for specific social and geophysical sites.
Maude Bernier Chabot lives and works in Montreal since 2005. She obtained a BFA from UQAM and an MFA in Sculpture from Concordia University. In 2009, she received the Prix Diagonale. Her work has been presented at Circa and Diagonale, Art Mûr, la Casa de la cultura de Hoguin (Cuba) and the Maison de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal.
Véronique Chagnon-Côté lives and works in Montreal. After completing a Bachelor's Degree at UQAM in 2009, she obtained an MFA in Studio Arts in 2016 from Concordia University. Interested as much by matter than by its appropriation in pictorial space, her work prompts the viewer to take a dual look at her works, both conceptual and formal. Her works have been exhibited in solo exhibitions at Galerie B-312, Action Art Actuel, CIRCA Art Actuel as well as Zalucky Contemporary Gallery.
Maude Deslauriers is a visual artist living and working in Montreal. She currently works mainly with drawing and is also interested in body movement and video. Her work explores different aspects of femininity and is influenced by her dance practice. The connection between the body and the organic world is a recurrent theme in all of her past and present work.
